Progress, Freedom, and Profit is a performance with a Power–Point presentation in which Ruchama Noorda depicts a world based on marketing strategies. Noorda′s performances are characterized by the desire for an omniscient ideology. Her use of religious terminology in combination with corporate buzzwords shapes a dubious and alienating manifesto.
Ruchama Noorda studied visual arts at the Royal Academy in the Hague (BA 2002) and the Sandberg Institute in Amsterdam (MA 2004). She made her debut in 2003 with the solo exhibition The Profitable Art of Gardening in Museum Het Domain in Sittard. This year Noorda was a resident at the European Ceramic Work Centre in ′s–Hertogenbosch and she participated in The 9th International Photography Gathering in Syria. Noorda recently received the Hermine van Bers Art prize.
