Public Preparation is an international platform for contemporary art initiated in 2007 as a collaboration between the curator Rael Artel and cultural producer Airi Triisberg to prepare the participants of and the public for the Biennale of Young Artists in Tallinn, Estonia. After the Biennale is over, Public Preparation will continue as an independent project providing a space for self–education, exploring current practices of collaborative working methods and critical art production. Currently, Public Preparation is collaborating with het Van Abbemuseum in Eindhoven as part of the project Be[com]ing Dutch in the Age of Global Democracy.
Rael Artel is an independent curator based in the forests of Estonia. She participated in the Curatorial Training Program in De Appel, Amsterdam and since 2004 she runs and moderates the Rael Artel Gallery: Non–Profit Project Space. Artel was the co–curator of Consequences and Proposals for the Biennale of Young Artists in Tallinn, 2007.
Airi Triisberg is a cultural producer based in Tallinn. She is currently pursuing her MA in Cultural Theory at the Estonian Institute of Humanities. Since 2003 she has contributed to a number of cultural newspapers and magazines in Estonia.
